How to get a driver's license

1. Theoretical teaching
Candidates attend classes where they learn basic traffic rules, regulations and signs. Topics related to traffic safety, basic technical aspects of vehicles and providing first aid in the event of an accident are also covered. This part is crucial for understanding how traffic works and how drivers should behave on the road. The class consists of 40 hours of lectures and exercises, lasts 3 to 4 weeks, is compulsory, and the dates are agreed with the theory lecturer.

2. Passing the theoretical exam
After completing the theoretical classes, candidates take a test that checks their knowledge of traffic rules, signs and regulations. The test consists of multiple-choice questions, and successful passing of this exam enables the transition to practical training. The candidate applies for a free appointment, which suits him, no later than 8 days after attending the theory class. The test is taken at the driving school at the specified test time.

3. Medical examination and First
Aid Course
The candidate chooses a free appointment and schedules his examination, course and First Aid exam at a health facility. A medical certificate is a requirement for starting practical training and passing the driving test.

4. Practical training - Driving
In this phase, candidates start driving with an
instructor. They learn the basic techniques of driving a vehicle, including
moving, stopping, turning, parking and driving in different traffic situations.
The goal is to gain a sense of safety and self-confidence in driving a vehicle.
Driving lessons consist of 40 (forty) practical lessons that include:
-
training at the training ground,
- training in the settlement,
-
training outside the settlement,
- training in night driving
conditions,
- training on the routes for passing the practical exam.

5. Test drive and simulations
Before the actual exam, candidates go through test drives and simulations in order to better prepare for real traffic situations. This includes driving in urban and non-urban conditions, driving in different weather conditions and solving complex traffic challenges. After completing the mandatory 40 hours of practical training, the candidate applies for the driving test. In the 8 to 10 days before the practical exam, the candidate has the possibility of additional practical training (number of hours if necessary), on the route routes for taking the exam and at the test site.

6. Taking a practical exam
After completing the training, the candidate takes the
practical exam before the commission. During the exam, the candidate's
ability to drive the vehicle independently in real traffic conditions, obey
traffic regulations and react to different situations on the road is tested. The
test consists of 2 parts:
- test at the training ground,
- driving
test in the settlement.

7. Obtaining a driver's license
After passing the driving test, the candidate at the driving school receives the documentation required for obtaining a driver's license at the competent organization of the MUP. This stage marks the beginning of the driving experience, with further responsibility for the safety of yourself and other road users.
Practical training - driving
- In the first phase, the student-candidate learns to properly adjust the vehicle and use it independently.
- Departure, change of gear, use of controls and devices in the vehicle. Vehicle actions.
- Moving, maintaining direction, turning, entering and exiting traffic, and stopping.
- Monitoring the traffic situation, vehicles and pedestrians, traffic signs and markings and light signaling. The candidate is then, as well as later, at the beginning of the lesson highlighted the topic, goal, task, and at the end provides the conclusion of the lesson.
- At the end of this phase, the student should have developed the habits of:
a) correct vehicle settings,
b) safe and proper inclusion and exclusion from traffic,
c) independent and proper driving of the vehicle, controlling both the traffic situation and the devices and equipment in the vehicle itself,
d) reacting and solving all circumstances in traffic, since many participants do not act properly or safely through carelessness, ignorance, irresponsibility,
e) act with care, respect and appreciation of all other traffic participants.
- This phase lasts 10 teaching hours, and it is often necessary to prepare the student to successfully master them with additional teaching and supplementary classes, and then pass the practical driving test. In this phase, it is necessary to build independence and the ability to concentrate on solving the test task, on the training ground and driving in the neighborhood.
